Mr Aydan Greatrick
Aydan Greatrick is the Project and Communications Coordinator (PCC) for the Refugee Hosts project. He works closely with the PI to ensure that the project’s findings are widely disseminated, translated and accessible to the communities participating in this research. Aydan is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Aydan’s research focuses on the roles that gender and sexuality play in determining responses to and engagements with refugees, including with particular reference to refugees from Syria in Turkey and Europe. He is also interested in examining the role history and narrative play in the formation of humanitarian ideas, policy and practice. He has written about this topic for Refugee Hosts in a blog article which can be found here. Aydan has an MSc in Global Migration from UCL and a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Cambridge. He also works for the Centre for Transnational Development and Collaboration (CTDC), helping with the day-to-day management of different grass-roots led advocacy and development projects that seek to empower marginalised communities across the Middle East and North Africa.
